He has served as a correspondent for the Washington Post in Baghdad, Cairo, and Jakarta, and covered both the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. From observing these wars, he has come to the conclusion that though the United States can win wars quickly, it often makes crucial mistakes in the post-war transitions.
Rajiv Chandrasekaran is the author of Imperial Life in the Emerald City, and the recently-published book on the war in Afghanistan, Little America.
